- July: Negi Springfield graduates top of his class at Medina College and is assigned to become a teacher in Japan.
2003
- January: Negi Springfield starts at Mahora academy and takes over class 2-A. After Negi saves Nodoka Miyazaki from a fall; Asuna Kagurazaka becomes the first person on-screen aware of Negi’s magic; within 9 hours of his arrival
- January: Negi makes a love potion, chaos ensues.
- January: Negi attempts to help Asuna out, first class with Baka Rangers.
- January: Dodge-ball match with Black Lilies.
- February: First and second day of the 2003 Tokyo University entrance exams
- February: Negi is given his challenge by the principal to reverse class 2-A’s grade trend. Word of the challenge and different stories about the punishment spread. The Baka-rangers, fearing demotion to grade school, take Negi and Konoka to the Library Island after a coveted book. They fail a test and fall into the Underground Library for the first time.
- February: Negi, Konoka and the Baka rangers return in time to complete their examination
- February: After an accounting in grade scores error causes Negi to incorrectly assume he is fired, the headmaster has the totals counted again. 2-A is the top scoring class for their grade.
- March 10th: Tokyo University admission announcements: Motoko Aoyama and Kaolla Su successfully enter Tokyo University
- March: Semester three commencement ceremony. Negi talks with Chisame for the first time. Spring break starts
- March: Kaolla Su graduates from high school.
- March: Fuka and Fumika Narutaki take Negi on a tour of the Academy, they meet Yuna, Akira, Misa, Madoka, Sakurako and visit the world tree.
- March: Negi, Asuna and Konoka visits Ayaka on the birthday of Ayaka’s dead younger brother.
- April: Motoko and Kaolla attend the Tokyo University Entrance Ceremony at Nihon Budukon Hall. Motoko enters the law program
- April 1st: Negi is chased by class 3-A when through gossip they believe he is a prince. Similarly Konoka is hiding from an o-miai. Makie is attacked by Evangeline.
- April 2nd: Negi becomes a fully appointed teacher at Mahora academy. Evangeline attempts to attack Nodoka, Negi intervenes and engage in his first fight, Chachamaru defends and captures Negi, Asuna saves him.
- April 3rd: Evangeline start to ditch classes. Negi first discusses partners by accident. Negi is kidnapped by Kaede and Akira and taken to a ‘pep party’, Chamo arrives at Mahora academy. A letter arrives for negi; Chamo attempts to destroy it.
- April 4th: Chamo lures Nodoka and negi together. Nodoka becomes the first person to step in a pactio circle with Negi. Asuna intervenes and learns that the letter was referring to Chamo having committed a number of crimes in Wales.
- April 5th: Evangeline is recalled to the headmaster. Asuna becomes the first person to form a semi-probationary card. Negi and Asuna follow, then attempt to attack Chachamaru. Negi calls off the attack when he decides he cant attack her.
- April 6th: Evangeline discusses her talk with the headmaster. Negi flees for the forests, crash lands, looses his wand and runs into Kaede. Kaede helps negi get his mind off events at mahora.
- April 7th: Negi recovers his wand and returns to Mahora.
- April 8th: Negi draws up a letter of challenge to give Evangeline. Visiting her home for the first time, chachamaru leaves an unconscious Evangeline in the care of Negi. Negi uses dream/memory sync for the first time.
- April 9th: Evangeline returns to class. Mahora Academy has a four hour blackout to do maintenance on the electrical grid. Chachamaru shuts down the defense grid; Evangeline returns to full power. Makie becomes processed and captures Akira, Ako and Yuna as servants for Evangeline. Negi engages in his second fight and fights Evangeline without Asuna. After being alerted, Asuna saves Negi again and becomes the first full-probationary partner. After a brief battle between spells, Negi wins moments before power (and the force field) is restored. Evangeline is saved from a fatal fall by Negi; Negi resolves to help Evangeline out of her curse
- April 10th: Evangeline and Negi run into each other, Negi affirms Nagi is alive. Evangeline recommends looking in Kyoto for clues
- April 14th: Negi announces class 3-A is taking a field trip to Kyoto. The headmaster assigns Negi an envoy mission while on the field trip. Konoka and Asuna take Negi clothes shopping for more casual clothing. Konoka attempts to get a pactio card of her own.
- April 20th: Konoka and Negi shops for Asuna's birthday present at Harajuku.
- April 22nd: Kyoto trip day 1: 3-A (minus Chachamaru, Evangeline and Sayo) Arrive in Kyoto. 10 out of 28 are rendered intoxicated and sleep the rest of the day, Negi and Setsuna Sakurazaki talk for the first time (and arguably the fourth person to be aware that Negi is a mage). Two attempts are made on kidnapping Konoka. Asuna uses Ensis Exorcizans (Unperfected version) for the first time. Setsuna encounters Tsukuyomi for the first time (on-screen)
- April 23rd: Kyoto trip day 2: Nodoka Miyazaki confesses to Negi. Kazumi Asakura becomes the fifth person (and second muggle) to become aware of Negi’s magic. Kazumi Asakura later organizes Operation: kiss Negi-kun passionately on this school field trip; Nodoka Miyazaki wins, and becomes the second Pactio partner.
- April 24th: Kyoto trip day 3: Nodoka uses Diarium Ejus for the first time. Negi meets and fights Kotaro Inugami for the first time. Nodoka intervenes and formally becomes the sixth person (and third muggle) to be aware Negi is a mage. Setsuna and Konoka face off with Tsukuyomi at Cinema village. Setsuna later takes Konoka to the Kansai Magic Association/Konoka’s home. Fate Averruncus attacks the association and kidnaps Konoka at night, and later encounters Negi for the first time. Nodoka, Haruna and Kazumi get stoned, Yue escapes and calls back. Setsuna becomes the third pactio partner and reveals she is a half-demon of the Tengu Tribe. Evangeline intervenes and reseals Ryoumen Sukananokami. Konoka Konoe formally becomes aware of negi’s magic and becomes the fourth pactio partner.
- April 25th: Kyoto trip day 4: Kansai Magic Association healed. Chigusa captured by Chachazero. Negi and group 4 return to the hotel and rest. Negi, Evangeline. Chachamaru, Kazumi and group 4 are guided by Eishun to Nagi's old house, Negi received a map left by Nagi from Eishun.
- April 26th: Kyoto trip day 5: Class 3-A returns to Mahora academy
- April 27th: Negi researches the maps he received from Eishun; hands them over to Nodoka and Yue for further analysis. Negi asks Evangeline to train him.
- April 28th: Negi asks Ku Fei to train him in the use of kenpo.
- April 30th: Makie overhears she is ‘too childish’ by her gym coach and runs off in dismay.
- May 1st:After running into Negi in the morning, Makie accidently arranges a tournament between Chachamaru and Negi to determine if Evangeline will train him. Makie enlists to help.
- May 2nd: Ku Fei’s manga inspired training routine.
- May 3rd: The ‘Makie-Asuna-Negi shower incident’
- May 4th: Midnight Showdown tournament between Chachamaru and Negi. Negi fights until he lands one blow. Makie enters her tournament try-outs. Negi, Setsuna, Konoka and Asuna discuss yesterday’s events. Nodoka and Yue reports of a clue discovered on the map; Negi’s formally confirms to Yue that he is a mage. (for all the events in May/03 to make sense, Setsuna’s comment has to be assume she meant ‘last night’)
- May 5th: Nodoka and Yue intercept Negi despite his warnings. Defeated by their demands; all of them enter the underground library in search of the clue. Negi’s first encounter with the guardian dragon.
- May 6th: Negi performs a power gauge test for Evangeline. After enquiring about the strength needed to defeat a dragon; Asuna learns about Negi's trip to the Library underground without informing her, results in an argument
- May 9th: Negi hasn’t talked to Asuna in three days. Ayaka invites/dragoons Negi to a private Island resort
- May 10th: Everyone (minus Evangeline, Chachamaru and Sayo) go. Ayaka stages a fake shark attack to attract Asuna’s attention to Negi; Asuna uses Ensis Exorcizans (Perfected version) for the first time. Yue and Kazumi express interest in Pactios. Ayaka talks to Asuna about her augment with Negi.
- May 11th: Asuna comes to Negi’s room early in the morning and resolve their argument.
- May: Negi starts to train with Evangeline.
- May: Asuna, Setsuna, Nodoka, Ku, Konoka, Yue and Kazumi follows Negi to training and discover Eva's resort; where negi has been training. Negi's discusses his past for the first time. Kotarou escapes and is encountered and taken in by Natsumi and Naba. Wilheim and the slimes attacks and captures Asuna, Setsuna, Nodoka, Ku, Konoka, Yue, Kazumi and Chizuru. Negi and Kotarou arrives to rescue them, and defeats the demon.
- May: Kotarou is dismissed of all previous charges. Negi decides to become a Magic Swordsman.
- May: Midterms, 3-A comes is third for the grade, Asuna last in class.
- June 4th: Negi mails a letter to Nekane. Asuna introduces herself to Nekane for the first time.
- June 5th: Kotarou’s first day at Mahora academy. First line spoken by Zazie Rainyday. Negi’s first attempt at discussing what attraction 3-A will do for the Mahora festival. Asuna invites Negi to sleep with her.
- June 6th: Negi’s first visit to the Chao Bao Zi. First line spoken by Satsuki Yotsuba. Negi’s second attempt at discussing what attraction 3-A will do for the Mahora festival. Negi heads to Chao's tram and gets drunk by mistake.
- June 7th: Negi wakes up at the Chao Bao Zi and talks with Satsuki about his problem. Negi’s third attempt at discussing what attraction 3-A will do for the Mahora festival is successful. Negi unknowingly counts Sayo Aisaka’s vote. First line (technically monologue) spoken by Sayo Aisaka (to date holds the classroom record for the longest time between the start of Negima and first line)
- June 8th: Sayo makes her first attempt at contacting members of class 3-A
- June 9th: Sayo makes her second attempt at contacting members of 3-A. An amateur ghost busting team, as well as Setsuna and Mana are dispatched when Sayo's appearance creates a huge disturbance in class. Negi resolves the situation. Sayo becomes friends with Negi and Kazumi.
- June 10th: Chachamaru is recalled for a brief maintenance check. after consulting with Negi, Asuna, Konoka and Setsuna on the possible cause, Satomi commences a brief experiment with Chachamaru. Satomi’s invasion of Chachamaru’s personal logs sends the latter into berserk mode. Negi disables Chachamaru.
- June 11th: Satomi apologizes to Chachamaru and agrees to keep the details of her logs secret.
- June 13th: Asuna’s first attempt (on-screen) at asking Takamichi Takahata out. Chamo discusses sending Negi and Asuna out on a trial run date. First appearance of the Age deceiving pills.
- June 14th: First appearance of Nagi Springfield. First encounter between ‘Nagi’ and Ako Izumi. Trial date fails, despite guidance from Konoka, Setsuna and Chamo.
- June 17th: Negi becomes overcommitted to fulfill seeing or doing everything his students one him to do. He further commits to seeing the festival/a date with Nodoka, Ako, Sayo and – pending a loss at the martial arts contest – Evangeline. Negi and Kotaro enter the marital arts contest. Asuna’s second attempt (on-screen) at asking Takamichi Takahata out is successful.
- June 19th: After three triple shift days, Class 3-A finish the entrance to their attraction for the festival. Negi and Setsuna are briefed about the World Tree's magic from the principal. First formal appearance of Takane D. Goodman and Mei Sakura. Negi helps out a Chao who misinforms Negi of being chased for the wrong reason. When captured, Negi takes charge of Chao and has her released. First appearance of a Cassiopeia watch.
- June 20th MK1: Mahora festival Day 1: Negi visits the 3-A Attraction. Goes to rest in the infirmary prior to his date with Nodoka; Setsuna and Negi are drugged and wake up at 8pm, the first time travel is triggered either by accident or by timer
- June 20th MK2: Mahora festival Day 1: Negi and Setsuna return to 10am, after running into MK2 Nodoka, both determine it’s a time machine. Setsuna and Negi proceed to have a ‘date’ while looking for Chao. While aboard the Airship, Setsuna encounters Chao who makes her first hints about her heritage and blood relationship with Negi. Negi sees the festival with Nodoka; upon the urge to kiss Negi. Nodoka accidently sets off the world tree magic and results in Asuna getting kissed by the ‘Kiss terminator’, Nodoka kisses Negi for the first time. Negi and Setsuna brief MK2 Asuna and Konoka on the time machine and set the clock back for 1:30pm
- June 20th MK3: Mahora festival Day 1: Negi, Asuna, Konoka and Setsuna arrive at 1:30pm. Negi meets up with and patrols with Mana, whom discusses her background. Negi accidently runs into MK1 Yue; after giving a logical whiplashing to Kotaro, Negi and Yue go on a date and discuss Nodoka’s date and how to deal with Nodoka afterwards. Yue then privately admits to Chamo that she is developing feelings for her. Negi, Kotaro meet up and go to the martial arts tournament preliminaries; Setsuna, Asuna, Mana, Ku, Takamachi, Kaede and Evangeline all join in. First appearance of Colonel Sanders. Negi briefs MK3 Kotaro on the time machine and sets the clock back for 11:30am
- June 20th MK4: Mahora festival Day 1: Negi and Kotaro arrive at 11:30am. They visit the 3-A attraction and volunteer to help; Kotaro is given a wolf costume and Negi is initially given a Vampire costume until Misa gives Negi a Mini-skirt Kitsune costume, Ayaka passes out in surprise. Upon Ayaka’s recovery, she goes on a ‘date’ with Negi, visiting other students at their respective exhibits. After a brief nap on Ayaka’s lap, Negi, Kotaro and Ayaka meet up with Chisame (and later Makie) at a cosplay contest; before finally going to Makie’s gymnastics performance. Upon parting ways with Ayaka, Negi completes all tasks and objectives for day 1.
- June 21st MK1: Mahora festival Day 2: Negi, Asuna, Setsuna, Konoka and Kotaro seek shelter in Eva’s resort for 2 hours/days at 4:00am to recover from Day 1 of the Mahora Festival. Evangeline gives negi the magic activation ring . Negi enters in the Mahora Festival fighter’s tournament; Negi defeats Takamichi, Takane and Setsuna before being defeated by Colonel Sanders – who reviles himself as Albireo Imma and uses his artifact To Fyuron To Biographicon to fight as Nagi Springfield. During the tournament, Takamichi is kidnapped until the end of the contest while Misora and Cocone, discover the ‘army’ that Chao uses on day three. Chao escapes into the future before being caught. [/i]. Following events at the tournament, Negi meets up with Chisame who confirms that he is a mage. Along with Chachamaru and Kotaro, the party obtain disguises (Negi becoming ‘Nagi’) and visit Ako. Ako flees after a badly timed arrival and passes out somewhere for several hours, waking up at 7:20pm. Nagi briefly shows up and promises to make things better.
- June 21st MK2: Mahora festival Day 2: Ako wakes up at 1pm surprised to find Nagi sitting at the table. Ako and Nagi then go to see the festival together with remarkably high results (by this point, negi has been on 4 ‘dates’). Upon returning to the concert; Ako, Nagi, Chisame, Chachamaru and Kotaru run into MK1 Ako, Nagi, Chisame, Chachamaru, Kotaru and Madoka; chaos ensues. Ako successfully plays in the debut performance of dekopin rocket.
- June 21st MK3: Mahora festival Day 2: Haruna learns about magic from Yue, Nodoka and Konoka and wants a pactio. After attempting once, Haruna encourages Yue to get one as well. During the Library Island tour; Yue confesses to developing feelings for Negi. After Nodoka overhears, the two come to an understanding about the subject. Yue and Haruna becomes respectively the fifth and sixth pactio partner.
- June 21st MK4: Mahora festival Day 2: After looking for the robots Misora found. Takamichi puts his date with Asuna to today; Takamichi rejects Asuna. First mention of Megalosembria made. Chao announces her departure at the end of the festival; Negi, Setsuna and Kaede confronts Chao and fights for the first time, Setsuna uses Sica Shishikushiro for the first time. Ayaka throws a surprise party for Chao, where she announces her departure formally. End of all day 2 events.
- June 22nd MK1: Mahora festival Day 3: Negi, Setsuna, Kaede, Ku, Nodoka, Yue, Haruna and Chisame meet up with Asuna and Konoka in Eva’s resort to discuss a battle plan for dealing with Chao. Haruna uses Imperium Graphices for the first time. Negi talks with Evangeline over the ramifications and ethics of Chao’s plan. Cassiopeia triggers the time trap.
- June 22nd MK2: Mahora festival Day 3: Negi and party return to the festival in mid air at 8:30am, Cassiopeia is damaged and Negi passes out. He briefly awakes and proposes a new plan to defeat Chao and instructs his team to handle various tasks. By afternoon, Negi’s plan equips 2500 persons with weapons from Megalosembria to battle the suspected numbers of Chao’s army. The Battle of Mahora starts 5:24 on the beach; the initial action by the defending students downs 160 robots, but the robots make a beach head. Chachamaru starts hacking the defense grid and Chao starts to deploy time displacement bullets. Chisame becomes the seventh pactio partner and immediately uses Sceptrum Virtuale Regnis for the first time. Negi awake and enters the battle. Kaede and Mana duel. Chisame and Chachamaru battle over the defense grid. Negi confronts Chao for the second time and defeats her in battle atop the Mahora academy’s airship.
- June 23rd: Chao Lingshen returns home.
- June 24th: Negi’s third encounter with the underground dragon. First discussion with Albireo Imma about the whereabouts of Nagi Springfield and first discussion regarding Mundus magicus.
- June 25th: School resumes; Asuna, Yue, Nodoka visit the confessional booth.
- June 26th: Setsuna, Ayaka, Yuna, Sakurako, Madoka, Misa, Chisame, Makie, Natsumi, Takane, Fuka, Fumika and Negi visit the confessional booth. Negi looses his magic activation ring in the bath.
- June 27th: Akira assists Negi in locating the missing ring.
- June 28th: Negi sends a letter to Nekane announcing plans to visit in the summer
- June 30th Alternate timeline: Negi and party leave Eva’s resort and are slow in discovering its 8 days later. Negi is arrested; Asuna and party make plans to return back to June 22. Setsuna and Kaede battles Touko while Asuna and Ku battle Takane. Negi’s party infiltrate the headquarters and rescue Negi. Negi learns from Takamichi details about the battle. Yue uses Orbis Sensualium Pictus for the first time. Second appearance of the underground library dragon. Negi uses Cassiopeia to return to 8 days previous.
- June 30th: Negi writes up end of term report cards and conducts a pop test on Class 3-A.
- July: Kotaro becomes Negi’s training partner
- July: Asuna, Nodoka, Yue and Haruna are the first invited to join Negi on his trip to Mundus magicus.
- July: Mid-term exams are conducted, Class 3-A comes second place for the grade.
- July 11th: Summer Holidays start.
- July 12th: Konoka first attempt at a pactio with Setsuna. Asuna submits application forms to create the Negima club. First appearance of Evangeline’s castle. Asuna is gauged for power and is considered too weak to lead the club.
- July: Asuna undergoes training to become a more competent combatant. Everyone in the future Ala Alba undergoes individual training.
- July: Yuna encounters her father talking to Donet McGuiness
- July: Yuna goes to the theme park with her father, approves of him remarrying despite the misunderstanding.
- July: Summer fireworks display. Yue and Nodoka start selecting an activation key. First appearance of Chachamaru in her version 2 body and first appearance of the version 3-B body.
- July 25th: The British Culture study club (still known as the Negima club) is officially chartered. Ayaka presents a report to Asuna regarding the whereabouts of Nagi Springfield. Evangeline distributes the Ala Alba badges to all members and tests their skills at the summer festival.
- July 26th: Anya Cocolova arrives in Japan. Negi and the majority of class 3-A arrive at the beach. First appearance of the Sayo doll (unknown if Sayo is in it). Anya first goes to mahora before going to the beach and finding Negi. The two of them catch up on old times.
- July 27th: Anya attempts to drag Negi home, Konoka resolves the problem by calling Nekane. Makie, Yue, Nodoka, Ayaka and Anya battle over who negi sleeps next too.
- August 1st: Anya visits Evangeline’s castle, finds out about negi’s pactios.
- August: Negi, Kotaro, Asuna, Konoka, Setsuna, Haruna and Chisame attend Comiket.
- August: Sayo performs a trial run with her Sayo doll.
- August: Makie comes fouth place in a Gymnastics prefecture meeting
- August 9th: Mysterious sisters arrive in Megalosembria, Mundus magicus; planned departure on 14/AUG/03
- August 12th (+9 GMT): Ala Alba depart for London. First appearance of Chachamaru in her Version 3-A body. Ayaka and Negi love depart for London.
- August 12th (GMT): Ala Alba arrive and go sightseeing in London. Ayaka and Negi love arrive for London. Makie locates Negi. Everyone travels to Pembroke, Wales and arrive in Negi’s hometown. Negi meets Nekane and introduces class 3-A (Minus Evangeline, Satomi, Satsuki, Zazie). Negi gives a tour of Medina academy and his hometown. Negi announces his intentions to go to Mundus magicus.
- August 13th: Ala Alba depart for the earth-side gate. Ayaka and the others manage to follow them to the gate. Fate Averruncus reappears. Teleport commences and takes Ala alba, Fate Averruncus, Natsumi, Ako, Akira, Makie and Yuna to the gate port at Megalosembria, Mundus magicus. Fate Averruncus and his team attacks Ala Alba for the first time.
